Officials with city of Grand Rapids to discuss improving policing today

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — City leaders in Grand Rapids will hold a news conference today about the next steps to improve policing.

City officials scheduled to speak at the meeting include City Manager Mark Washington, Police Chief Eric Payne and Director of Oversight and Accountability Brandon Davis .

The conference is slated to start at 2 p.m. at city hall and is being held a few hours before a digital town hall on policing that’s scheduled to run from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. the same day.
