Ottawa County Sheriff's dept. says man charged in mother-in-law’s murder

HOLLAND TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office says a man has been formally charged in the murder of his mother-in-law.

Sheriff's deputies said David Malcomb McCoy, 31, was charged with open murder and habitual offender third notice. A two-count warrant was issued for him on Friday in connection to the homicide.

Michelle Speck, McCoy’s mother-in-law, was found dead in a hotel room near Holland lastThursday morning.

The Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office said Speck was stabbed to death.
