State officials report over 22,000 persons have recovered from COVID-19

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — State officials say according to data released Saturday afternoon, 430 more confirmed cases of COVID-19 have been reported, bringing the state case total to 46,756.

Additionally, the health department says Michigan has recorded 133 more deaths linked to coronavirus, bringing the total to 4,526, the state says. Officials say 67 of those deaths were found after reviewing death certificates.

A clearly positive sign from state data was that 22,686 people have now recovered from COVID-19. This metric mean patients that are still alive a month after developing symptoms. 

Locally, Kent County added 78 new cases for a total of 2,213. Official say the number of deaths in the county stood at 41.
