It's a busy week for skywatchers, as they will be treated to a meteor shower(Eta Aquariid meteor showers) and one of the largest super moons of the year.

Tuesday morning looks to be the peak of the meteor shower, but you’ll have a chance of seeing some meteors early Wednesday morning as well.

It will be more difficult to see the meteors due to the bright light of the super moon, and viewing of the meteor shower is better in the southern hemisphere. Still, if you want to head outside after dark over the next few days, you’ll certainly have a chance of seeing some meteors.

This week's Eta Aquariid meteor showers originate as debris from Halley’s Comet. The Earth passes through the orbital path of the comet and the debris enters and burns up in our atmosphere.

Skywatchers can also look forward to a view of the third and final full super moon of 2020 this week. The moon will officially be full on May 7 at 6:45 a.m., but it will look full for most of the second half of the week.

Thursday's supermoon will be the third largest of the year.
