Western Michigan University Announces Pay Cuts, Roughly 240 Layoffs

KALAMAZOO (WOOD-AM) - Western Michigan University has announced a series of pay cuts and roughly 240 layoffs.

President Ed Montgomery said top-level administrators will take 10 percent pay cuts. Low-level administrators will have their pay reduced 5 percent.

Other employees will see a 2.25 percent pay reduction.

In a letter, Montgomery said he wasn't certain whether the laid off employees would be brought back at a later date.
