Trump Tweet To Gov. Whitmer: 'make a deal' with those protesting

BYMORGAN CHALFANT-

President Trump took to Twitter Friday morning and urged Gov. Gretchen Whitmer to “make a deal” with those protesting her stay-at-home order in the state.

In a tweet sent just before 9 AM Friday morning, the president said: “The Governor of Michigan should give a little, and put out the fire,” Trump tweeted Friday morning. “These are very good people, but they are angry. They want their lives back again, safely! See them, talk to them, make a deal.”

While hundreds of protesters demonstrated outside the state Capitol building, the GOP-led legislature debated inside and ultimately voted not to extend the state’s emergency declaration, plus voted to bring forth a lawsuit challenging Whitmer’s power.

The Governor's new executive actions, issued later Thursday, extend business closures and declare a state of emergency until May 28.
