Kalamazoo and Ottawa counties stand out in Student Count report

LANSING, Mich. (WOOD) — The economic crisis caused by COVID-19 is forcing governments to answer a tough question: where should they cut their budgets?

The Michigan League of Public Policy is hoping the 2020 Kids Count report will help to find an answer.

The group said that while the report released Wednesday does not reflect the impact of COVID-19 on children, it shows areas state and local governments should avoid cutting.
