A new executive order signed into law by Gov. Whitmer on Saturday is focused on reducing COVID-19 exposure at grocery stores and pharmacies.

The order puts into place new protocols for grocery stores, food establishments, and Michigan pharmacies. Protocols addressing social distancing include requiring company employees to wear masks or face coverings, and to implement daily screening programs.

The order also directs employers to now conduct daily health screenings and prohibits sick employees from working. The order also mandates that business operations must notify employees if a company team member tests positive for COVID-19.
