Cold with some slick spots on the roads causing some issues this morning.

On Monday, Michigan's unemployment website crashed and many reported hours-long hold times on the phone as claims exceed 1 million. Monday was the beginning for self-employed, 10-99 independent contractors and gig workers to apply for unemployment.

During During a news conference yesterday, Gov. Gretchen Whitmer said they are "cautiously optimistic" as the rate of new cases appears to be slowing down.

Operation Gridlock: A drive-by protest has been organized on Wednesday at noon to show disagreement with Gov. Whitmer's recent orders. Participants are being asked to stay in their cars, drive to Lansing and circle the Michigan Capitol building. 

Coronavirus Update

On Monday, the state reported 995 new cases for a total of 25,635. There were 115 new deaths reported as well, making the total number of deaths 1,602.
