Zeeland woman, 2 children seriously hurt in crash

OLIVE TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — A woman and her two children were seriously injured in a two-vehicle crash on Monday morning in Olive Township.

It happened around 10:20 a.m. at the intersection of 96th Avenue and Polk Street in Olive Township, north of Borculo.

A 65-year-old South Haven man driving an empty double-trailer gravel truck was headed north on 96th Avenue when he braked for slowing and stopped traffic that was turning into a nearby Tyson Foods plant, according to the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office.

As the man braked, the semi veered into southbound traffic on 96th Avenue, hitting a Buick head-on in oncoming traffic, authorities said.
