Dad arrested months after Ottawa County teen’s drowning

GEORGETOWN TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — A Georgetown Township man is facing manslaughter and child abuse charges in connection to thedrowning of his 16-year-old sonwith special needs.

The Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office said it arrested 50-year-old Timothy Alan Koets at his workplace in Grand Rapids on Thursday.

He’s facing charges of manslaughter, second-degree child abuse, second-degree child abuse committed in the presence of another child and fourth-degree child abuse.
