1 Officials have verified a case of Eastern Equine Encephalitis (EEE) in Kent County. A deer was found to have the potentially deadly disease.
The MICHIGAN Department of Health and Human Seevixe is encouraging organizations to reschedule, postpone, or cancel events outside tonight.
There haven’t been any human cases of EEE or West Nile in West Michigan. But there have been 8 human cases including 3 fatalities in the state.
Some West Michigan schools have rescheduled their Friday night football games, hoping to avoid issues with EEE.
2 A Michigan judge has ruled religious-based adoption agencies that contract with the state are allowed to refuse to place children in LGBT homes.
District Judge Robert Jonker in Grand Rapids blocked Democratic state Attorney General Dana Nessel, Michigan's first openly gay statewide officeholder, from barring the faith-based agencies from excluding LGBT couples from services.
