R. Kelly Hit With Eleven New Charges

(Chicago, IL) -- R&B singer R. Kelly is facing nearly a dozen new sexual assault charges.

The Chicago Sun Times reports Kelly was charged Thursday with eleven felonies, some of which carry max sentences of up to 30-years in prison. The charges include aggravated criminal sexual assault, sexual assault by force, and criminal sexual abuse. Three of the charges are for sexual abuse against a victim between 13 and 16.

Prosecutors say Kelly has previously only faced lower-level felonies with up to seven-year sentences.

Kelly's attorney says the allegations are from years ago.
