WML Tuesday: Jim Lower & Tech Talk Tuesday

Today on WML: State Rep Jim Lower joins the show to discuss his decision to run against Justin Amash. Tricia Morrow of Chevrolet talks to us about their new safety features including buckle to drive. Trent Knibbe of Affordable i-Store gives us tips on how to avoid getting scammed online. Jeff Barrett is here as always on Tech Talk Tuesday to hit on the latest in Tech.

1 More than 50 million people in the central US will be at risk today for some form of severe weather, including flash flooding, hail and damaging winds. This follows a day when at least 19 tornadoes swept through Oklahoma, Texas, Missouri and Arkansas.

 There's damage to homes, cars and businesses but thankfully no reports of injuries. Oklahoma will feel the brunt of today's bad weather. The National Weather Service issued a flash flood emergency for Tulsa, which has already gotten 5 inches of rain and could get 3 more. Water rescues have been reported throughout the state.

2 Former White House counsel Donald McGahn is scheduled to testify today before the House Judiciary Committee today during a hearing regarding Special Counsel Robert Mueller's report. President Trump has instructed McGahn not to testify or turn over documents requested by the Democrat-led panel, But Committee Chairman Jerrold Nadler, said McGahn must secure a court order excusing him from appearing or face a contempt of Congress charge if he does not appear.

3 ArtPrize organizers have revealed where the inaugural Project 1 will pop up this fall.  Martin Luther King Jr. Park, Tanglefoot and downtown Grand Rapids will all host large-scale installations and performances for Project 1. Organizers say they picked the sites based on feedback from community partners and the artists selected for Project 1.
