Campaign to save MI bikers says "Look twice. Save a life."

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (via WOOD TV) — "Motorcyclists are hard to see. Look twice. Save a life."

That was the message Michigan Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson brought Tuesday afternoon to Grand Rapids.

Benson announced a new education program that is designed around educating all drivers about the dangers that exist when bikes start traveling on roads.

The program will be paid for in part from fees collected for motorcycle endorsements and registration.

More than 130 motorcycle riders die every year in Michigan.

Benson says it's important to watch out for bikes because they are harder to see, more difficult to judge their proximity and easier for people to miss in their blind spots.
