Most of W. MI under severe thunderstorm watch

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD (AP) — Several parts of West Michigan are under a severe weather watch.

Twelve countiesincluding Calhoun, Ionia, Allegan, Barry, Kalamazoo, Kent, Ottawa and Van Buren are under a severe thunderstorm watch until 10 p.m. Sunday.

Barry and Eaton counties were under atornado warninguntil 7 p.m. Sunday. It's unclear at this point if there was any damage.

The primary threat is damaging winds. Wind gusts could become strong enough to down tree limbs and cause sporadic power outages. Small hail could fall as well, and there is a small chance that a weak tornado could develop.
