Bear found in city of Grand Rapids!

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (via WOOD TV) — A bear was found in a tree in a residential area after it wandered its way into the city Sunday morning.

The Grand Rapids Police Department tweeted a video of the male bear hiding in a tree in the 1600 block of Horton St. SE just after 10 a.m. Authorities say it was first spotted near MacKay Park.

An officer from GRPD shot a video of the DNR tranquilizing the bear and falling from the tree so that it can be transported back to the safety of the wild. 24 Hour News 8's Evan Dean was told that the bear is expected to be OK.
