KALAMAZOO, Mich. (WOOD) — Thousands of runners took to the streets of Kalamazoo Sunday for the annual Borgess Run For The Health of It races, which included a 5K, 10K, half marathon and full marathon.
Ful marathon runner Ryan Holtz of Clawson, Michigan, crossed the finish line first with a time of 2 hours, 45 minutes and 36 seconds; about five minutes ahead of his closest contender. This was his first time running the Kalamazoo Marathon and he said he beat his goal by six minutes.
"It was a better day than I thought I was going to have," a pleased Holtz said.
The first woman to finish was Michelle Magagna of Portage, who had a time of 2 hours, 55 minutes and 23 seconds. She was fourth overall.
