CATO TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — Michigan State Police are investigating a head-on crash on M-46 that killed two men.
It happened shortly before 4:30 a.m. Saturday on the state highway near the Michigan State Police Lakeview Post in Cato Township, northeast of Howard City.
Troopers say 41-year-old Jesse Lottie of South Bend, Indiana was heading east when his vehicle crossed the center line, hitting a westbound vehicle driven by 51-year-old Richard Daniels of Six Lakes.
Both drivers died in the crash. No one else was inside the vehicles at the time.
State police say alcohol and speed appear to be factors in the crash.
