Allegiant starts flying to Sarasota from Ford Airport

ASCADE TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — Allegiant Airstartednonstop flights out of the Gerald R. Ford International Airport to the Sarasota Bradenton International Airport in Florida Friday.

The new year-round flights to Sarasota (SRQ) will be offered twice a week, according to Allegiant Air. The new route marks the seventh destination Allegiant Air offers out of the Grand Rapids-area airport since the air carrier was added in 2009.

To celebrate the occasion, the company is offering a fare that starts at $55 each way on the new route. Customers must purchase the flight by Sunday and fly by June 28 to take advantage of introductory fares. More details can be found on the company’swebsite.
