To The Point: MDOT director talks fuel tax

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — It should come as no surprise PaulAjegba, director of the Michigan Department of Transportation, would like to see the fuel tax increased as suggested by Gov. Gretchen Whitmer.

The hike would give his department more money to work on roads. He says the weight of trucks or the way roads are built are often brought up for causes of Michigan's poor rating when it comes to our infrastructure. However, Ajegbasaid the real problem is money.
