Today on West Michigan Live Justin discusses the idea of lowering the voting age to 16. Dave from Party World joins the show to discuss the 550 million Powerball jackpot. We continue our Corp! Magazine CEO Spotlight with Trudy Ender, CEO of Humane Society Kent County.

-The Michigan Dept of Civil Rights wants to hold two meetings next week to look into incidents they claim are troubling with the GRPD.

Speaking of which, Governor Gretchen Whitmer declared a state of emergency in Newaygo county for the flooding issues folks are facing there. Here’s what it means:

The declarations provide state resources, including funding to fix roads and other government infrastructure damage. It also allows the Michigan State Police Emergency Management and Homeland Security Division to coordinate flooding response and relief efforts.

-The Powerball jackpot jumped to $550M after no winning number was drawn Saturday night. 

The new cash value is $335M for tonight’s drawing.
