VIDEO: Man attacked on St. Patrick's Day; GRPD seek 4

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — Grand Rapids police are looking for four people in connection to an attack caught on a surveillance camera.

The crime happened on St. Patrick’s Day on Ionia Avenue and Cherry Street Southwest in the city’s Heartside neighborhood.

Security footage Grand Rapids police posted on Facebook Wednesday shows the suspects crossing the street when one of them turns around and punches a man, knocking him onto the ground in the middle of the street. Another suspect runs over to the victim and takes his cellphone before all four run away from the scene.

Police say the victim was still unconscious when they found him. He was taken to a nearby hospital with life-threatening injuries, officers say.

Anyone who recognizes any of the suspects is encouraged to contact Detective Richard Lewis at 616.456.4469 or send an anonymous tip to Silent Observer at 616.774.2345.
