(via WXYZ) — Jeff Blashill has worked this season on the final year of his contract, but it appears his job security isn't an issue.
The Red Wings are nearing a contract extension with Blashill, Bob McKenzie reported Wednesday on NBCSN.
Blashill and the team are expected "to get pen to paper and get something done" on a contract extension in the coming days, McKenzie said.
