WML Friday Show Notes: Mass Shooting in New Zealand & Haunted Lighthouses

Today on West Michigan Live, Bill Steffen joins the show to discuss the latest weather, Justin touches on the recent mass shooting in New Zealand, and Author Dianna Stamplfer joins the show to talk about her book Michigan's Haunted Lighthouses.

BIG 3

1 Mosque Mass Murder

Mass murder at two mosques full of worshippers attending Friday prayers killed 49 people on what the prime minister called "one of New Zealand's darkest days," as authorities charged one person, detained three others and defused explosive devices in what appeared to be a carefully planned racist attack.

2 Michigan Tornado

A tornado touched down in mid-MichiganThursday evening, tearing into homes near Durand as severe storms marched across the Lower Peninsula.  There were no reports of any injuries.

50 structures reportedly damaged.

3 Veto

The Republican-run Senate voted against the President’s declaration of a national emergency at the southwest border, setting up the President's first veto. Twelve Republicans sided with Democrats for yesterday's vote. With the Democratic-controlled House's approval of the same resolution last month, Senate passage sends it to the President who simply tweeted after the vote, 'VETO!'

Now, it’s up to the courts to decide the fate.
