Hastings hospital: Water clear of Legionnaires' bacteria

HASTINGS, Mich. (WOOD) — Months after the bacteria that causes Legionnaire’s disease was found in the water supply at Spectrum Health Pennock, the Hastings hospital says it’s water is clean and safe to use.

Spectrum Health Pennock announced Thursday its water testing is complete.

The hospital began submitting samples after two patients at the hospital were treated for Legionnaire’s disease.One of those patients died. However, hospital officials said the 92-year-old man's case was "very complex" and it was too difficult to tell if Legionnaires' disease was the culprit.
