GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — One person was killed in a crash on US-131 Tuesday as blowing snow and slippery roads created treacherous travel across West Michigan.

The National Weather Service issued a Winter Weather Advisory for several West Michigan counties through 7 p.m. Tuesday. The storm will bring 2-6 inches of additional snow, the heaviest in areas between US-31 and US-131. Wind chill temperatures could reach 5 below to 15 below z

Winter weather carries over into March

Drivers can expect slow travel and drops in visibility due to blowing, heavy snow. Visibility in some areas may be reduced to only a few car. Roads will also be icy due to the low temperatures not allowing salt to work well, according to NWS.
