LOWELL, Mich. (WOOD) — There is something missing from the Flat River shoreline in Lowell. After decades as the community’s unofficial town square, the Lowell Showboat was demolished Thursday.
As she watched the battered showboat be taken apart piece by piece, Melinda DAgostino thought about the man who helped make it happen.
“I'm the youngest daughter of Ivan K. Blough," DAgostino said. “My father built the boat. So I came down here to watch it go and I wanted to be here for the last piece.”
