GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — An iconic downtown Grand Rapids restaurant is closing due to renovations at the hotel in which it's located.
Cygnus27, located at the top of the Amway Grand Plaza Hotel, will close on March 16, Cygnus27 officials told 24 Hour News 8.
In the spring of 2020, a new restaurant with a different name will reopen in the space currently occupied by Cygnus27, officials said.
The restaurant closure is tied to a $40 million renovation project at the Amway Grand Plaza. The renovation will feature new tinted glass that will be slightly reflective. Amway said the most visible change will be the tower's color, which will appear lighter from street level and more transparent for guests indoors.
