Thousands without power as latest winter storm hits MI

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — There are more than 13,000 customers without power as a winter storm moves through Michigan Tuesday.

As of shortly before 10 a.m. Tuesday, the Consumers Energy outage map showed a total of 7,139 customers without power statewide. The majority are in Southwest Michigan.

The following counties had at least 100 customers without power:

  • Branch County: 756 customers
  • Kalamazoo County: 924 customers
  • Kent County: 120 customers
  • St. Joseph County: 276 customers

Indiana Michigan Power , which serves several counties near the Michigan-Indiana border, showed a total of 6,600 customers in Southwest Michigan without power.
