ROCKFORD, Mich. (WOOD) — The 24 Hour News 8 Daybreak team put a new twist on a Super Bowl tradition: the “Puppy Bowl.”
Our puppy players were 4-week-old Burnese Mountain Dogs in Rockford, all vying for their mother’s milk. Instead of two bowls of food, each team had a quarterback. For the Rams, little Diego, or rather, ‘Die-Goff’ put on the blue and gold jersey. Isabella, or ‘Isa-Brady’ wore the red and blue for the Patriots.
The puppies lined up in their pen in a race for the end-zone where mom, Lily, was waiting. Whichever quarter-pup latched on in the end zone first won the match.
The puppy puns are endless but the fun and cuteness were also plentiful.
Watch the play-by-play unfold above and let’s hear it for the underdogs!
