Deaths of men in car, motel ruled murder-suicide

MUSKEGON, Mich. (WOOD) — Investigators say the man found dead in a motel over the weekend had killed himself after shooting and killing another man whose body was found in a burned-out car.

The man whose body was found in the car was identified through dental records as Raymond Coleman Jr., 27, of Muskegon, the Muskegon County Sheriff's Office said Thursday. He died of a single gunshot wound.

Coleman's body was found Saturday in the trunk of the burned car, which was parked in the woods along a two-track just southeast of the village of Lakewood Club.

When authorities tracked down the owner of the car, she said she hadn't heard from her boyfriend, 33-year-old Antonio Wiggers, since Friday and she was worried about him.

When investigators went to the Montague home where Wiggers and his girlfriend live, they found another crime scene. They soon realized a shooting had happened there.

On Sunday morning, investigators learned Coleman's family had filed a missing persons report with Muskegon police, saying they hadn't seen him since Jan. 17.
