2 arrested in Portage Target break-in

PORTAGE, Mich. (WOOD) — Two men have been arrested in connection to the break-in of a Kalamazoo County Target store.

The break-in happened just after 4 a.m. Saturday morning at the Target store at 6839 South Westnedge Avenue north of Romence Road Parkway in Portage.

Portage police say they, along with Target security, were able to remotely access their security cameras to view two masked men inside the store armed with a crowbar.

Authorities say they then set a perimeter around the store and sent in officers with a K9. Upon entry, officers say the two men fled out an emergency exit and were arrested after a short chase on foot.

The two men are currently held at the Kalamazoo County jail.

No further details have been released at this time.

This break-in is still under investigation.
