GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — It appears The Orbit Room, an iconic clubs in Grand Rapids, is on the verge of closing.
The venue was closed Monday. Signs posted on the door ordered that it remain unoccupied.
On Monday afternoon, the owner said the club hasn't yet officially closed, but that its future seems grim. The owner said all shows for January have been canceled.
The club near the intersection of the East Beltline and 28th Street was known for hosting huge national acts, including concerts, comedy acts and fights, for decades. But a former owner said it has been struggling to compete with newer venues, like 20 Monroe Live downtown.
