MONTAGUE TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — Muskegon County deputies are seeking tips leading to a driver who hit another vehicle, then ran from the scene.
The crash happened around 5:45 a.m. on Dec. 13 on southbound US-31 near the Fruitvale Road exit in Montague Township, about 18 miles north of Muskegon.
Deputies believe Liborio Cortes Pineda was behind the wheel of the vehicle that crashed into the back of another vehicle. The impact of the crash caused both vehicles to roll off the highway.
Investigators say the at-fault driver ran from the scene. A police K-9 tried to track the driver, but lost his scent near Old US-31 and West Skeels Road.
