British Prime Minister Theresa May Survives No-Confidence Vote

Prime Minister Theresa May makes a statement in 10 Downing Street, London, after she survived an attempt by Tory MPs to oust her as party leader with a vote of no confidence.

Theresa May will continue to serve as the Prime Minister of Great Britain after she survived a vote of no-confidence brought against her by her own party over her handling of the Brexit deal. After the vote, May addressed reporters and said that "we now need to get on with the job of delivering Brexit for the British people and building a better future for this country."

"That must start here in Westminster with politicians on all sides coming together and acting in the national interest," she said.

May is trying to lead the country to an exit from the European Union but the deal she presented to members of parliament was greeted with hostility from politicians on both sides of the aisle.

Both May and EU officials have said that the deal she presented is the best deal they will get, but May faces an uphill battle to get it approved by lawmakers before the March 29th deadline.
