GALESBURG, Mich. (WOOD) — Thanks to a Michigan State Police trooper, one West Michigan family will have a very merry Christmas this year after someone swiped their Christmas gifts.
Trooper Benoit, who is based out of the MSP Paw Paw post, investigated a break-in on Nov. 29 at an apartment complex in Galesburg. During the investigation, police found that a 9-year-old boy's presents had been taken.
Without the boy’s mom knowing, Trooper Benoit reached out the State Trooper Outreach Partnership to find a way to replace the gifts. He had a specific list of presents that the organization was able to replace, including a Harry Potter wand and Pokémon cards.
