GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — There could be a temporary solution to address the issues surrounding housing access for very low-income families in greater Grand Rapids.
In October, Target 8 reported the recent depletion of an emergency hotel fund administered by the Salvation Army in West Michigan. When the money ran out, around 40 homeless families had to leave Grand Rapids hotels.
Officials with housing agencies in Grand Rapids are now trying to setup a temporary shelter for very low-income families in a former senior housing community.
