GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — The Inner City Christian Federation celebrated another Grand Rapids development Thursday morning during a ceremonial groundbreaking.
The latest project, 501 Eastern, will take shape in the Baxter Neighborhood on the city's southeast side. It's the second groundbreakingfor ICCF within the past month.
"A lot of the neighbors who have lived in this neighborhood for many years are at risk of being displaced and we believe this building is an exciting place where we can have a place for people to stay," said Ryan Verwys, ICCF president and CEO.
The two, four-story buildings will house 65 units total, with 17 devoted strictly to youth experiencing homelessness.
