BC-area substitute teacher arraigned on child porn charge

BATTLE CREEK, Mich. (WOOD) — A man who worked as a substitute teacher in the Battle Creek area has been arraigned on a child pornography  charge.

Stephen Bridges, 56, was arraigned Wednesday on charges of  possession of child sexually abusive materials and using a computer to  commit a crime.

Police said they took three computers from a  property on G Drive North. Officers said they don’t believe any of the  pornographic photos they’ve found are local children.

The  computers were taken as part of a search connected to Donald Johnston,  who was charged with first-degree criminal sexual conduct for an assault  on a 5-year-old boy. He was arrested as part of an investigation into a  child sex abuse conspiracy ring spanning several counties.
