CARSON CITY, Mich. (WOOD) — Two people were arrested for vandalizing a Carson City church and the personal vehicles of some of its members.
Authorities said a church van, entrance sign and the gymnasium at the Church at Carson City Fish Creek School were spray-painted on Oct. 31. Some members of the church also found spray paint on their personal vehicles and homes.
The school’s principal said the words painted lead them to believe the vandalism was based on the church’s beliefs.
Surveillance video showed two people were involved in the vandalism and helped investigators identify 54-year-old Anna Morris of Carson City, who was arrested and has been arraigned on charges related to the incident. A 14-year-old relative that lives with Morris was also interviewed and arrested for their involvement.
The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services will further investigate the 14-year-old’s involvement.
