MI Supreme Court refuses to hear appeal in Baby Kate murder

LUDINGTON, Mich. (WOOD) — The Michigan Supreme Court has refused to hear an appeal from a man who was found guilty of murder in the death of his 4-month-old daughter.

Sean Phillips was sentenced to 19-45 years in prison in 2016 after being convicted of second-degree murder in the death Katherine Phillips. The conviction was upheld by the Michigan Court of Appeals in April before the Supreme Court announced its decision Tuesday.

Katherine Phillips disappeared from the Ludington area in 2011, and her body still hasn’t been found.
