Girl fights off would-be abductor at bus stop

BENTON HARBOR, Mich. (WOOD) — Benton Harbor officers are urging vigilance after a reported abduction attempt involving a girl at a bus stop.  

The 14-year-old girl told public safety officers she was waiting at her bus stop at the corner of E. Main Street and N. Hull Avenue around 6:45 a.m. Monday when a man grabbed her from behind.

Officers say the victim fought off the suspect, who ran away.

The suspect is about 5-foot-9 and 180 pounds. He was last seen wearing a dark blue or black sweatshirt with a Nike emblem.
