Task force to release GRPD recommendations

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — A group tasked with helping the Grand Rapids Police Department strengthen its relationship with residents will unveil its final recommendations Wednesday.

The Police Policy and Review Task Force formed last October with a goal of reviewing procedures within the department. The group was created as a result of a traffic study which found racial disparities in stops and searches.

Community meetings have been held over the last several months for the task force to learn what residents want to see changed.
