EAST LANSING, Mich. (WLNS/WOOD) — Michigan State University says bogus claims to a fund designed to help victims of disgraced sports doctor Larry Nassar are "significant," and the investigation will continue for "some lengthy period of time."
MSU established a $10 million Healing Assistance Fund to help pay for counseling for sexual assault victims in December of 2017, as the case against Nassar was coming to a close.
However, MSU stopped paying from the fund over the summer, citing concerns about potential fraud.
