GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — Chris Navarro's ArtPrize 10 entry is meant to help people strive for more, become a better version of themselves and reach their goals.
"It's for the young at heart," Navarro said of his work DARE TO DREAM BIG. "Everybody wants their dreams to come true. And the sculpture's about a lion and a cat. So the cat, he's looking in a mirror and he sees a lion in his reflection, so he starts to believe he's a lion."
People who view the piece outside the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Museum in downtown Grand Rapids can write their dream on a large blackboard next to the sculpture.
"Because if you want to be a lion, you have to believe you're a lion," Navarro said.
