Grand Rapids Catholics pray for abuse victims

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — Bishop David Walkowiak held a 'Holy Hour' service at the Cathedral of Saint Andrews in downtown Grand Rapids Wednesday to honor victims of abuse within the Catholic Church, but also to look at how the church will move forward.

The bishop spoke out on the way allegations have been handled within the church, also saying he was "ashamed and angry" about the allegations that have surfaced in the past two months. While speaking with 24 Hour News 8, Walkowiak specifically mentioned former Cardinal Theodore McCarrick of Pennsylvania and how he was surprised and disappointed to hear of accusations he abused a child decades ago.
