PORTAGE, Mich. (WOOD) — Portage police are investigating after three masked robbers smashed glass display cases and stole diamonds from a jewelry store.
It happened around 8:30 p.m. Thursday at the Helzberg Diamonds in Southland Mall on S. Westnedge Avenue.
Police say the robbers, who were wearing masks and dark sunglasses, told the store employees to get on the ground. They didn't show any weapons or imply they were armed.
It wasn't immediately clear how many diamonds they made off with.
