MUSKEGON, Mich. (WOOD) — Investigators say a Muskegon man is dead after being pulled from Muskegon Lake.
The Muskegon County Sheriff’s marine unit was called to the lake shortly before 9:30 a.m. Friday
It happened shortly before 9:30 a.m. Friday on the south side of the lake, at the tip of a peninsula southwest of downtown Muskegon.
Investigators believe the 48-year-old man was alone when the small boat he was aboard capsized. He was found in the water and pulled ashore.
It's unclear how long the man was in the water, but authorities believe he drowned. Investigators say there is no obvious signs of trauma to his body.
Police are withholding the man's name until they've notified his family.
