GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — A Grand Rapids man who was missing for more than 24 hours has been safely reunited with his family, police say.
Dalontae Beene, 20, was found downtown Thursday evening, according to the Grand Rapids Police Department. Officers say he is uninjured and in good health.
Beene walked away from his mother’s home in the 400 block of Ionia Ave. SW around 2 p.m. Wednesday.
Loved ones were concerned for his well-being because they said he has a mental capacity equivalent to a 5- to 7-year-old child and doesn’t know his way around Grand Rapids.
Police Friday thanked community members for their help in tracking down Beene.
